She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson, a member of the Council of Catholic Women, and was an active volunteer at both St. John's Church and School for many years.
Gerri served as the president of the AFSCME union at Countryside Home in Jefferson, president of the PTA at St. Mary's Catholic School in Tomahawk, worked as a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul, was a member of the Jefferson Historical Society, volunteered for the Christmas Neighbors program, and was an active volunteer in many other community activities.
She worked at the former A & P Foods in Jefferson for 10 years, and at the former Countryside Home, now Alden Estates of Jefferson, for 13 years.
She leaves behind three sons, six daughters and their husbands, two daughters-in-law, 30 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Lou Gleisner; one grandson; one great-grandson; two brothers and six sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson.
