Death which has proven itself to be no respector of persons has again entered our community and laid its leaded fingers on a lovely girl, a devoted daughter, a charming friend and a pious christian. Monday the 17th of Sept., Miss Etta Smith after an illness continuing through several weeks from typhoid fever, died. She was the daughter of Mr. G. R. Smith of this county. She was born Sept. 16th 1872, making her sixteen years and one day old at her death. When we see death claiming those of Miss Etta's age we are made to realize with force that change and decay are written upon everything beneath the sun. Her life of piety to duty as a pupil, a neighbor, a friend, and a nurse to her two brothers who preceded her to the other world is an assurance to bereaved hearts that she passed into a _____ of eternal happiness. The burial took place Wednesday at the Bethlehem grave yard, and a long precession followed the remains to their resting place. For the loss which the bereaved family has sustained we extend our deepest sympathy.
