"The LaFayette Sun" - Wednesday, July 7, 1920:

Mr. Andrew Jackson Burton, one of the oldest citizens of Tallapoosa County, AL; and for many years a resident of this county, died at his home near Denver, AL; last Friday. Mr. Burton was in his 85th year.
There were thirteen children in the family, ten of whom are living. They are J. M. Burton, of Denver; R. P. Burton, of LaFayette; Joe Burton, Mrs. Maggie Noble, and Mrs. Minnie Harwell, of Dadeville; Mrs. Kate Henley, of Tallassee; Mrs. Ella Rotten, of Tallassee; Mrs. Lucy Woodall, of Abanda; Mrs. Bennie Stanfield and Miss Ruth Burton; there are twenty-six grandchildren.
The deceased was the father of thirteen children, and at the funeral, there were present thirteen grandsons and thirteen granddaughters.
Mr. Burton was a highly respected citizen and had many friends in this section of Alabama.
He was buried in the Burton family cemetery last Saturday morning.
