Chester attended Skowhegan schools and worked for many years on a cutting crew with Lucas Tree Co. Chester married Dorothy Murray on Aug. 12, 1961, in Skowhegan.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Chester enjoyed working in his wood shop and making wooden animals. He liked snowmobiling and four-wheeling, and he loved his snap potatoes every day.
Chester is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy "Dot" Corson; sons Chester C. Corson Jr., of Orono, and Kenneth Corson and wife Christine, of Norridgewock; stepsons Dennis Murray, and Lee Merrill and wife Margerita, of all of Maryland; siblings Laura Chapman, of Skowhegan, Jane Towle, of Skowhegan, Paulette Steward, of Skowhegan, Patricia Frappier, of Skowhegan, Alice Berry and husband Raymond, of Skowhegan, Linda Dwyer, of Skowhegan, and Elmer Corson and wife Jeanne, of Madison; three grandchildren, Ashley, Kailynn and Angeles; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Brad and Lynn.
Chester was predeceased by his parents; and siblings Minnie Peterson, Beverly Berry, Rodney Corson, Shirley Corson and Kenneth Corson.
