Minnie B. Patterson, 79, of Harmony passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Redington Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, surrounded by her family. She was born March 2, 1931, in Athens, the daughter of the late Elmer S. Corson Sr. and Irene A. (York) Corson.
Minnie was educated in Athens schools. She married William Patterson on June 20, 1995, in Harmony.
She worked for Norrwock Shoe Company in Skowhegan doing hand-lacing for many years right up until they closed. She then she worked at home -- Dexter Shoe Company supplied the materials and Robert Patterson delivered the materials and picked up the finished product.
Besides her husband of 15 years, Bill of Harmony, she is survived by her five children, Patsy Polchies of Skowhegan, Clyde Keene of Harmony, Donald Keene and his companion, Marsha, of Skowhegan, Nancy Dickson and her husband, John, of Skowhegan, and Daniel Keene and his wife, Susan, of Utah; seven sisters, Laura Chapman of Skowhegan, Beverly Berry and her husband, David, of Skowhegan, Jane Towle of Skowhegan, Paulette Steward of Skowhegan, Alice Berry and her husband, Raymond, of Skowhegan, Patricia Brown of Skowhegan, and Linda Dwyer and her husband, Mike, of Skowhegan; two brothers, Chester Corson and his wife, Dot, of Skowhegan, and Elmer Corson Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Madison; nine grandchildren, Wendy, Tammy, Tony, Tina S., Tina M., Sherry, Tanya, Crystal and Jason; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Corson and Rodney Corson; one sister, Shiela Corson; and one grandchild, Frank Polchies.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Rest Cemetery in Athens. (Morning Sentinel 5/5/2010)
