Rayford Allen Kirkman, 73, of Inman, SC, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Inman Healthcare.

Born in Sandy Ridge, NC, on October 8, 1938, he was a son of the late Ann (Preston) and Romney Kirkman and was the husband of Judith Ann (Fowler) Kirkman.

He worked as a truck driver and mechanic at Oliver Trucking Co. and was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Landrum, SC.

He served for over 14 years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Rayford is survived by three daughters, Deborah Booth of Fingerville, Patsy Hayes of Inman, and Sandra Gunner of Spartanburg; three sons, Billy Turner of Inman, Randy Kirkman of NC, and Danny Kirkman, of FL; a sister, Barbara Rose, of Sandy Ridge, NC, a special daughter, Nikki Gunner of Inman; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

The family received friends Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 11:00 - 12:00 Noon at Bible Baptist Church in Landrum.

Funeral services followed at 12:00 Noon at Bible Baptist Church with Rev Tommy Turner officiating.

Burial with military honors was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.

In addition to flowers, memorials could be made to the Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 330 West Finger Street, Landrum, SC 29356.
