The loved ones of Reed M. Larsen bid their loving and compassionate husband, father, and grandfather a tender, but temporary farewell.

Reed, age 82, passed away on August 9, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on July 9th 1922, in Logan Utah to Mary Jane Mathews and Job Andersen Larsen.

He was the youngest of eight children and was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

He grew up in Logan, Utah and graduated from Logan High School in 1940. He obtained his bachelors and masters degrees from Utah State University and went on to receive his Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver.

He served honorably in the armed forces during World War II and retired as a Lt. Col. from the Air Force, after 28 years of service. After his military retirement, he continued his career as a civil servant founding and directing the first Air Force Psychology Internship training program at Wilford Hall Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

Throughout his professional career he uplifted and enriched the lives of those he touched through his wise and compassionate counsel.

He married his sweetheart Norma VanFleet in Logan, Utah on August 23, 1947.

Together they raised four Children, Shannon (Rob) Ryder, Lori (Jim) Allred, Todd (Ann) Larsen, and Kami (Brad) Smith.

They are the beloved grandparents of 13 grandchildren. His family will miss him deeply and will always treasure his memory. May he forever walk in the sunshine. Graveside services held Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr.
