East Prairie - Funeral service for Calvin Roy Day will be held Monday at 1p.m. in Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie, with Rev. Paul Presson officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Day, 64 years old, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1987, in the Missouri Delta Medical Center, following an apparent heart attack.
He was born Feb. 23, 1923, at Henderson Mound, near East Prairie, son of John Henry and Rhoda Lee Cooper Day.
Calvin was a lifelong resident of New Madrid County, where he was a retired farmer. He was of the Baptist faith.
On July 5, 1947, he married Geneva Imogene Jackson, who survives.
Other survivors include sons, Roy Day and Dennis Day of Matthews, and Danny Day of Sikeston; daughters, JoAnn Stockman of Sikeston, Retta Day and Wanda Day, and Rhoda Moore all of Matthews, and Carmel Norman of Sikeston; brothers, Henry Day of Matthews, and Charles Day of Sikeston; sisters, Eugenia Pritchett of Matthews, and Ethelo Simpkins of
Hammond, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and other relatives.
