He was married February 5, 1965 to Shirley Flowers who preceded him in death December 28, 2015.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angie & Mike Wallace of East Prairie, Mo; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Frankie & Julie (Summers) Day of East Prairie, Mo, Jeffrey Day of Matthews, Mo, Christopher & Julie Day of East Prairie, Mo and Greg Day of Sikeston, Mo; two brothers, Dennis (Lisa) Day of Matthews, Mo and Danny (Debbie) Day of Sikeston, Mo; five sisters, Jo Ann Stockman of Sikeston, Mo, Retta (Gery) Baggett of Matthews, Mo, Wanda (John) Waldron of Boise, ID, Rhoda (Doyle) Moore of Symsonia, KY and Carmel (Andy) Norman of Sikeston, Mo; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Martin Lucas officiating.
Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers are Greg Day, Dennis Day, Danny Day, Frankie Day, Chris Day and Johnny Jackson.
