Mrs. Harmon Alberts was born July 2, 1885 at East Friesland, Germany. In 1882 the family immigrated to America, settling in Franklin County, Nebraska near Hildreth. On June 15, 1905 she was joined in marriage with Mr. Harm Alberts of Hildreth, and this union was blessed with 12 children.

They resided on a farm near Hildreth for eleven years, moving from there to their present home, four miles west of Culbertson.

Mrs. Alberts' death came not unexpectedly last Sunday evening after a lingering illness of about five weeks, brought on by a toxic poisoning and heart trouble. She had suffered a similar severe attack some four years ago. She leaves to mourn her early departure, her husband and eight children, one grandchild, and two brothers, Albert Groothuis of Culbertson and Tom Groothuis of Hildreth. The children all reside at home with the exception of two daughters, Mrs. H.C. Haussler and Mrs. Albert Rathe, both of Culbertson. Four children, three in infancy, and one son, last year at the age of 24 years, preceded her in death.

The funeral services took place on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Wegener of the St. John Lutheran Church, of which she was a member about 17 years. Interment was made in the local cemetery.

Those coming from a distance to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Groothuis, Mr. and Mrs. Sander and Mrs. Frerichs, all of Hildreth; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Alberts and son of Blue Hill, Nebr; also the Duhm family from Benkelman.
