O. Wayne Winger. 85, of 2653 113th St.. Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, July 23, 1998 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home. He was born on April 26, 1913, in Eau Claire to Oscar and Anna (Johnson) Winger. Wayne graduated from Eau Claire Sr. High School with the Class of 1931. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Wayne married Margaret E. Anderson on Sept. 1, 1953, in Stillwater, Minn. He was an electrician with various contractors and then worked at Uniroyal for 16 years until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of Sanctuary Lodge #347 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Eau Claire, Zor Temple Shrine of Madison; a member of VFW Post #305. American Legion Post #53, both of Eau Claire; Moose Lodge #246 and Eagles Club #2213, both of Chippewa Falls; and a member of the Lake Hallie Sportsman Club. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Margaret; two brothers, Lincoln (Margaret) of Tucson. Ariz., and Clarence (Drusilla) of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Kenneth Wolf and William Kovak. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vernon; a sister, Betty Lois Heffler. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be at Big Elk Creek Cemetery, town of Wheaton, Chippewa County. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home where there will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
