Clarence L. Winger, 91, of Eau Claire went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 6, 1919, in Eau Claire, a son of Oscar and Anna (Johnson) Winger. He graduated from Eau Claire High School and married Drusilla Kennedy, the love of his life for 68 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy, and retired from Uniroyal in 1981, after 38 years. Clarence and Drusilla spent many summers camping at Devils Lake in Baraboo and also O'Neill campground where they enjoyed quality time with their family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and traveling. They took each grandchild on a special vacation. He is survived by his children, Marlene (Tom) Perry, Richard (Connie) Winger, Julie (David) Hepfler and Randy (Cathy) Winger; nine grandchildren, Kevin (Margie) Perry, Gregg (Jana) Perry, Kim (Jon) Mathwig, Karen (Jeff) Kincaid, Jason (Cindy) Hepfler, Justin (Stephanie) Hepfler, Gia (Darryn) Elliott, Jessica Winger, and Samantha (Mike) Bouchard; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his brother, Lincoln (Margaret) Winger. He moved to Eastridge Estates in June of 2009, where he enjoyed playing cards, bean bag, and sitting and visiting with his friends. He will be missed greatly by all but with the reassurance that we will all be reunited again. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church, 123 W. Hamilton Ave., with Pastor Rodney Venberg officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., and one hour prior to services Tuesday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church.
