Sister Mary Gabriel died at St. John's North in Springfield at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 18 days.
She was survived by 2 sisters, Rose Rawe of Jerseyville, Jersey County, Illinois, and Marie Smith of Hardin, Calhoun County, Illinois.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl, who died in infancy, and John M.; and 2 sisters, Edna Baumann and Bernadette Baumann.
Funeral services were conducted on 24 Jan 1990 at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel. She was buried at Calvary Cemetery on 25 Jan 1990. Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home of Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
It was requested that memorials and masses, if desired, be given to Sacred Heart Convent.
