VIRGINIA BEACH - Shirley R. Ripski, 73, of Virginia Beach, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born Nov. 18, 1935, in Edenton, N.C., to the late William C. and Sabra B. Sitterson. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, John C. Ripski; daughter, Anita Jo Ripski; sister, Marge Lawyer; and two brothers, Billy Sitterson and Gene Sitterson. She is survived by three daughters, Karen R. Hemmer and husband Dwight Sparks, Jackie Moulton and husband Vincent, and Beth-Ann Irving and husband Warren; one son, Terry L. Ripski; one sister, Marie Keeling; and grandchildren, Craig and Allison Ripski, Vinnie, Shelby and Sarah Moulton, and Danieall and Brandon Irving. A visitation will be held today at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, from 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in The Church of the Ascension in Virginia Beach, with Father Jim Parke officiating.
