Mrs. Celia Levy, nee Achenbach, was born in LaPorte City, Benton County, Ia., April 15, 1872. She moved to Knox county with her parents at the age of 13 years, where she grew to womanhood.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Levy in 1894. To this union six children were born; Mrs. William Guthrie of Omaha, Mrs. William Rokahr of Venus, Mrs. Loretta Betts of San Anselma, Calif., Mrs. James Edmunds of Omaha, George in the armed forces at New Guinea and LeRoy, who passed away in infancy.

Others left to mourn her passing are three brothers and one sister, Joseph Achenbach of Yankton, S.D., Royal Achenbach of Cedar Bluffs, Ia., Albert Achenbach of Mechenicville, Ia. and Mrs. J.L. Groeling of Walnut, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was confirmed in the Christian faith in the spring of 1927.

Her husband passed away in 1942. One brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
