Mrs. Lucy Merle Baggerly, 65, of 2700 S. 13th St. Springfield, died at 2:35 a.m. Wed. the 27th of Dec. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Silvus of Auburn. Mrs. Baggerly was a frequent visitor in the Waverly area.
She was born July 6, 1907 at Taylorville, a daughter of James and Ollie Mae Adcock Garrison.
She married Harry Baggerly of Waverly in 1924. He died in 1958.
Survivors include three daughters Mrs. Betty Greaegin of Hammond, Ind., Mrs. Silvus and Mrs. Donna Hoch of Springfield; four sons, Harold of Palmyra, Mo., Clarence, Jack and Harry, all of Kansas City, Mo.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Christina Smith of Burlington, Iowa, Mrs. Lennie Phillips of Springfield, Mrs. Kathleen Water of Springfield and Mrs. Stella Harrison of Florida; one brother, James Garrison of Burlington, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
One sister, one brother and one daughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baggerly was a foster parent for the Child and Family Service Dept. of the State of Illinois. She was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Friday the 29th at the Auburn Baptist church, with Rev. Sherwood Johnson officiating.
Interment was in Waverly East Cemetery.
