Susan married Nelson McGhee [1793] on October 13 1831 in Franklin County Virginia. His farm was about 10 miles south of Rocky Mount on Chesnut Creek, thus not far from Waitman Richards' land. Waitman's father Edward [1731] had established a large plantation between Sydnorsville and Sontag, about 6.4 miles south of Rocky Mount.
Nelson had previously married Martha Cooper in 1814. She passed on around 1830.

She died April 05, 1892 in the town of Hamlin of Lincoln County West Virginia. She was living with her son, Benjamin at the time of her death.
