Elmer Wheeler Dies At Enid, Oklahoma

Word of the death of a former resident of this community has been received by relatives. Elmer E. (Ed) Wheeler, 80, son of the late Samuel and Jane Ports Wheeler, died Dec. 21 at an Enid, Okla. hospital, where he had been a patient for several months.

He was born and reared on a farm southeast of Carnforth, and was the youngest son of a family of ten children. He moved to Oklahoma in 1910 and farmed near Pond Creek before moving to Enid in 1945.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Stewart of Enid, Mrs. Ralph Helberg of Pond Creek and Mrs. Clinton Haws of Medford; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jay Manatt of Brooklyn, Iowa and Mrs. F. M. Pratt of El Paso, Texas.

He was the youngest son of a family of ten children.

Funeral services were conducted Dec. 26 at Pond Creek and interment was in the Pond Creek cemetery.
