Maurine (Dennis) McKay, 93, passed away February 28, 2011. She was born March 8, 1917, to George and Effie Dennis in Farmers Branch, Texas. On October 24, 1942, she married William L. (Bill) McKay of Athens, Texas. Maurine was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For the last forty years she lived in Missouri City, Texas, where she enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing golf, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Missouri City, the Quail Valley Quails, the Quail Valley Garden Club, and the Quail Valley Golf Association.
Maurine was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years and her son, Michael McKay of Boerne, Texas. She is survived by her granddaughter Amy Zost and husband Don of Missouri City, Texas, her grandson Erik McKay of Austin, Texas, her great grandsons Zach and Zane Zost of Missouri City, Texas, her brothers Howard and George Dennis of Farmers Branch, Texas, and her sister-in-law Kaye Blew of Athens, Texas.
The family would like to thank Colonial Oaks at First Colony, Memorial Hermann Hospice, and Optimum Personal Care of Missouri City for the comfort they gave to Maurine.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011, 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055.
