Norway - Sybil Louise Cooper Brunson of 3646 Norway Road, Norway, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, April 19, 2012. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church in Cope, with the Rev. Dennis Hall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Chris Brunson, Gage Skinner, Spencer Skinner, Trevor Brunson and Chandler Kilgus, and nephews Randy Brunson and Chad Brunson. Honorary pallbearers will be Harrison Kilgus, Brice Brunson, Macon Brunson, April Brunson Parler, Lauren Brunson, Torrey Adams, Ivey Brunson, Gracin Parler, Cael Brunson Parler, Christian Mize, Kayla Martin and Carmen Nix. Mrs. Brunson was born Aug. 10, 1935, a daughter of the late George and Minerva Cooper of Salley. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. She loved to sing in the choir. She lived one day at a time due to her illness. She fought a long fight and now she's home. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia (Theodore) Jackson of Orangeburg. Survivors include her husband, Dock Macon Brunson of the home; a daughter, Angela (Vernon) Skinner of Norway; three sons, Barry Cooper Brunson, Warren (Carmen) Brunson and George (Robin) Brunson, all of the Norway area; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Laudine (Lindbergh) Headden of Orangeburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the residence and at Thompson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Thompson Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
