Orangeburg - Mrs. Virginia H. Jackson, 83, of 2690 Charleston Highway, Orangeburg, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Sandpiper Rehab Nursing Center in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with Pastor Jack Moore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Brunson, George Brunson, Warren Brunson, Dock Brunson, Aubrey Johnson, Whetsel Williams and Todd Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Williams, Jeff Williams, Teddy Baggott, Cindy Baggott, Sara Baggott, Heath Johnson, Herb Antley, T.J. Jackson and Taylor Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Dorchester, a daughter of the late George Cooper and Minerva Cooper. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and worked at Jack Nolan's, Berry's on the Hill and Jeansville Industries. Survivors include her husband, Newman Theodore "Ted" Jackson of Orangeburg; a daughter, Kay Baggott Antley of Charleston; a son, Brad Jackson of Conway; two sisters, Laudine Headden of Orangeburg and Sybil (Dock) Brunson of Norway; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Aubrey (Brenda) Johnson and Mrs. Horace (Willie Lou) Jackson, both of Orangeburg and Mrs. Whetsel (Ann) Williams of the Jamison community; five grandchildren, T.J. Jackson, Taylor Jackson and Cheyene Jackson, all of Conway, Teddy Baggott of Jacksonville, Fla., and Cindy Baggott of Charleston; and one great-granddaughter, Sara Baggott of St. Mary's, Ga. Friends may call at the residence of Laudine Headden, 3274 Hart St., Orangeburg, and at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
