Dock Macon Brunson, 76, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 8, 1940 in Orangeburg County. He was the son of the late John Macon Brunson and the late Dolly Myers Brunson.  He was predeceased by his first wife, Sybil Louise Cooper Brunson and a sister, Mildred McCormack.

He served in the United States Navy.  He was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church on Cope Road where he taught Sunday School, was the Music Director for many years and was a Deacon.  He enjoyed his farm animals and farming. 

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Jane Williams Brunson of Norway; children: Barry Brunson, Angela and Vernon Skinner, Warren and Carmen Brunson and George and Robin Brunson all of Norway; step-sons: James Michael and Paula Hoover of Norway and Talmadge Hoover of Neeses; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Betty and Jim Marchant, Mary and Meril Murphy; brother: Marvin Brunson and a special dog: Lucky-Lou.

Funeral services will be held at 5 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church 3705 Cope Road in Cope, SC.  Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery 3705 Cope Road in Cope, SC. Rev. Jimmy Fanning will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Christopher Brunson, Gage Skinner, Spencer Skinner, Dock Trevor Brunson, Macon Brunson, Chandler Kilgus and Harrison Kilgus. Grandchildren will be Honorary Pallbearers: April Brunson Parler, Barry Christopher Brunson, Welton Gage Skinner, Spencer LeRue Skinner, Lauren Ashley Brunson, John Macon Brunson, Torrey Brunson Adams, Ivey Lee Gutheinz, Dock Trevor Brunson, Ashley Hallman and Jodie Bolin.Friends may call at the residence. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church at 3705 Cope Road Cope, SC 29038.
