Baldwin, GA -- Amanda Pritchett Wilson, age 91, of Peach Orchard Road, Baldwin, Ga., died Sunday, January 4, 1998 at a private convalescent home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Wilson was born on August 7, 1906 in Franklin County, Ga., to the late William Thomas and Mary Evie Thomason Pritchett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Garnet F. Wilson; a sister, Morene Ausburn; a brother, W. C. "Doc" Pritchett, a stepdaughter, Mary Bentley; a stepson, Frank Wilson. She was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church, a former dietitian for the Carnesville Schools lunchroom and was retired from the nursing staff at Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston, Ga.
Her survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Evie and Larry Whitfield, Cornelia, Ga.; a step-daughter and her husband, Gladys and Walter M. Jackson, Atlanta, Ga.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Reba Pritchett, Toccoa, Ga., and Mrs. Viola Ward, Toccoa, Ga.; grandchildren, John Whitfield, Cornelia, Ga., Spencer and Lora Whitfield Wright, Cornelia, Ga.; 4 step-grandchildren; 9 step great-grandchildren; and several step great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 6, 1998 from the Whitfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Jones and Rev. Billy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Allens United Methodist Church cemetery, Franklin County, Ga.
Whitfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
