Services for former Olla Police Chief Clifton D. Barton of Olla, La., were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Olla First Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Windhamand Glen Wagnon officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery, Olla, under direction of Riser & Son, Columbia.

Barton, 68, of Olla, died at 6:01 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 1989, in Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.

He served as chief of police in Olla for 25 years and was a retired LaSalle Sheriff's Deputy. He also served on the LaSalle Parish Police Jury, and was a member of the Olla Kiwanis Club and Standard Baptist Church. He was the former owner and operator of Cliff's Twin Lake Lodge at Grayson from 1978 to
1985 and operated Cliff's Quick Stop in Olla.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Tannehill Barton of Olla; two sons, Jerry Barton of Olla and Clifton D. Barton, Jr., of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Lennie Hatten of Olla and Skyla Ford of Buena Vista, Va.; two sisters, Doris
Seman of Orlando, Fla., and Billie Nell Stewart of Winnfield, and ten grandchildren.
