Delilah Compton Glass, 100, widow of Lewis Coffman Glass, passed away April 16, 2012 in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born April, 1912 in Falls Mills, Virginia to the late Henry Bane and Sue Blanche Kendall Compton. She was a member of Northside Christian Church and a nurse for over 50 years. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Ben) Calvert, Janis (Clay) McKnight, Sue (Jim) Barlow, and Ginger (Rick) Valentine all of Georgetown, and Doris (Gary)Friedly of Royal Palm, Florida; grandchildren, Lee Tevis, Karla Strippelhoff, Joy Tevis, Tim Tevis, Dale Calvert, Wade Calvert, Christy Ledford, Jesse McKnight, Jonathan McKnight, Phil Friedly, Gigi English, Parryn Fitts Wenzel, Tom Neclerio, Susan Grove, Natasha Ulack, Michael Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Thad Johnson, Anne Chapin Johnson, and Bane Valentine; 40 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; brother, Charles Compton of Hampton, VA.;and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter Pattie Anne Mathews and great gandson Kellen Tevis. Funeral services are Noon Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Tucker Yocum,& Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Redmon officiating. Visitation is 10 am until time of service on Saturday. Burial is in Georgetown Cemetery, with grandsons as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 US HWY 62 E. Cynthiana, Ky.
