Henry was the son of Ballard Preston Compton and Delilah Jane Harless. He married Sue Blanche Kindell. He was a farmer.

COMPTON, Henry Bane, of Falls Mills, Va. [Service] Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Falls Mills Christian Church, with the Rev. Dewey Parr and the Rev. Clinton Looney officiating. Burial in Tabor [Harry] Cemetery. Pallbearers: Richard Compton, Walter Johnson, Wade Johnson, Morris Johnson Jr., Jack Perkins, Charles R. Compton Jr., Bently Butt, and Buford Harry. Granddaughters will carry flowers. The body will be taken from Dudley Memorial Mortuary to the church an hour prior to the service.

Henry, Sue and their family lived in a house at the top of the hill off of Compton Road which is a left turn off of Mud Fork Road at Falls Mills.

BELCHER, COMPTON FAMILY REUNION ON NEXT SUNDAY
The pioneer Belcher and Compton families of Tazewell County are planning a reunion next Sunday at Falls Mills. The reunion will be held at the Macedonia Church, the spot being near the lands once owned by the Belchers and B.P. Compton. A part of the Compton farm was purchased by the Norfolk and Western Railroad and is now the dam site. Both the Belchers and Comptons are trail blazers and belong to that rugged pioneer who established our civilization here. Mrs. H.B. Compton, mother of the well-known school teacher, is chairman of the committee on arrangements. Come and bring your basket. Next Sunday, August 30.
