CHELMSFORD - Yvonne L. (Patenaude) Barrett, 93, a Chelmsford resident and a retired head nurse at the Bedford Veterans Hospital, died yesterday, May 9, at the Heath South Rehabilitation Center in Lowell. She was the wife of Thomas G. Barrett, who died June 27 1979. She was born in Salem Massachusetts, on April 25 1907, a daughter of Alfred and Hedwidge (Turcotte) Patenaude. She graduated Chelmsford High School in 1925, and Tewksbury State Hospital School of Nursing in 1928. A registered nurse, she was a head nurse at the Bedford Veterans Hospital, working at the hospital from 1930 until her retirement in 1966. Mrs. Barrett lived in the North Chelmsford Section of town, where she was also a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She was a member of the Retired State Country & Municipal Employees Association, Retired Federal Employees Association, and the Chelmsford Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by two daughters Barbara Keaney, and Jane Sylvain both of Chelmsford; tow sisters Alice and her husband Leon Chase of North Chelmsford, Dora Mahoney of Lenox; as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandsons. She was also the sister of the late Bertha Meade of Tyngsboro, Irene Spaulding of Waitsfield VT, Leo Patenaude of Tampa Fla, Arthur Patenaude of North Chelmsford, Alphonse Patenaude of Tyngsboro, and Armand Patenaude of Red Lodge Montana.
