Born in Lowell, MA on June 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Yvonne (Patenaude) Barrett. She graduated from Keith Hall High School with the class of 1962 and was a graduate from Boston University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
Jane was a teacher at the John K. Tarbox School in the Lawrence Public School System for many years before retiring in 2006.
She loved cooking, taking day trips and adventures, and spending time with her family and friends especially during the summer, her favorite season.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Tiffani Sylvain of Chelmsford; her son, Peter Sylvain and his wife Rebecca Rowlands of Lowell; a grandson, Thomas "Toby" Sylvain of Lowell; her former husband, Richard Sylvain of Lowell; a sister, Barbara Keaney of Chelmsford; a niece, Mary Leverone and four nephews, Thomas, Hugh, Michael, and Daniel Keaney. Jane leaves behind a wide circle of extended family and friends.
Visiting hours Wed. 4 to 8 p.m. in the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD.
