Gerald Anderson Bullock, DDS
Jan. 14, 1933 – Aug. 27, 2010, age 77

Born to Lyman Bullock and Nora Viola Anderson in Lethbridge, Alberta, Jerry was raised on a farm in Barnwell mostly by his mother and older sisters after his father died when Jerry was 7 years old. Embracing hard work in the face of adversity would be a theme throughout his life. He became a King Scout, served a 2½ year mission in France, and moved to the US to attend BYU,
where he met and married Jacqueline F Hansen August 25, 1958 in the Salt Lake City, UT LDS Temple. He studied dentistry at Georgetown U. and served in the US Army as a Dental Officer in El Paso, TX. Finishing his commission, they moved to Concord CA, then Pleasant Hill, where they raised their 5 children and he continued his passion for dentistry another 38 years.

Dad loved swimming, water and snow skiing, a good family BBQ and swim party, camping, and travel in a motor home with his family. He enjoyed watching hockey, football and baseball. He enjoyed a rich life, filled with activities and travel, (touring the Americas, much of Europe, and the
Middle East), playing the trombone, and singing in the choir. He was a proud Rotarian and devoted years to the Boy Scouts, leading the Venturing program. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many capacities on a ward and stake level.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister's Barbara and Bernice, and his wife Jacqueline, and he is survived by sister Genelle and children, Annette Culpepper, Clayton, CA; Greg Bullock, Pacific Grove, CA; Dianne (Just) Joplin, Richland, WA; Allyson (Kurt) Farry, Pleasant Hill, CA; KaraLee (Mike) Switzer, Draper, UT, and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service in his honor will be held 11:00 am, Sat., Sep. 4 at the LDS Chapel, 555 Boyd Rd., Pleasant Hill with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Parkinsons Foundation, to the LDS Humanitarian Aid, or to Jerry's Kids.
