Born on Jan. 2, 1934 in Smokey Junction, Tenn. to Virgil and Edith (Lowe) Burress,his wife, Sheila Hatfield-Burress, survives.Retired from Saint Gobain Containers in Dunkirk, he was a member of Community Baptist Church in Redkey, where he was Sunday School superintendent from 1971 until 1999, Local No. 96 G.M.P. and Lodge 695 F. & A.M. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Drema) Simmons, Dunkirk, and Mrs. Tim (Jeanie) Stafford, Indianapolis; a son, Keith Burress, Dunkirk; four sisters, Imogene Vann, Pioneer,Tenn. Mrs. Teddy (Joan) Cook,Knoxville,Tenn. June Sharp and Mrs. Roy (Janie) Chambers, both of Huntsville,Tenn; three Doyle Burress, Eufaula, Ala. Argil Burress, Harriman, Tenn. and Jimmy Burress, Huntsville; and seven grandchildren. Services are Friday at 11 a.m. at MJS Mortuaries- Redkey Chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey. Visitation is today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorials may be sent to the donor's choice.
