Mr. David Sluder, 62, of Route 1, Marseilles, Illinois, formerly of the Speck Ridge Community in Taylor County, son of the late Mr. Thomas Sluder and Mrs. Rebecca Osborne Sluder, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 10, 1913. He died at 1:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 1975, at his home. He united in marriage to Miss Mable Bailey in 1935. To this union four sons and four daughters were born: Mr. William Grant Sluder of Sheridan, Illinois, Mr. Carl Sluder of Ottawa, Illinois, Mr. Lynwood Sluder and Mr. Daniel David Sluder, both at home, Mrs. John "Nellie" McIntyre of Earlville, Illinois, Mrs. Ernest "Mary" Rutherford of LaFollette, Tennessee, Mrs. Ronald "Joan" Bakken of Rochelle, Illinois, and Mrs. Bruce "Lou Ann" Smith of Seneca, Illinois. Besides his wife, Mrs. Mable Bailey Sluder of Marseilles, Illinois, and children, he is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister: Mr. John Sluder of Campbellsville, Mrs. Ida Reed of Campbellsville, Route 6, Mr. Arthur Sluder and Mr. Troy Sluder, both of Marseilles, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Chapel in Campbellsville by Dr. J. Chester Badgett. Burial was in Tabernacle Cemetery in Adair County.
