Troy Ambrose Sluder, 78, Knifley, died Monday, Sept. 2, 1996, at Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville after an illness. He was the son of the late Thomas Sluder and Rebecca Osborne Sluder of Taylor County, and was a retired employee of Barber-Greene Company in Aurora, Ill., as a welder. Sluder was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Hancock Sluder, and was later married to Kathlene Sluder who survives. Besides his wife, Sluder is survived by one son and two daughters, Carl Sluder, Salestine Johnson and Barbara Norman, all of Illinois; four step-sons, Glenn, Ed, and Larry Mann, all of Illinois, and James Mann of Knifley; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Arthur Sluder of Illinois, John Sluder and Ida Glover, both of Campbellsville; and several other relatives. He was also preceded in death by one son, James Sluder. Funeral was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, with burial in Quinn Cemetery in Knifley. The Rev. George Hancock officiated.
