John S. Sluder, 89, of Campbellsville, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, in Campbellsville. Son of the late Thomas Sluder and Rebecca Osborne Sluder, he was born in Taylor County, Ky., on Feb. 21, 1910.

He was married to Lettie Cox on July 21, 1935, who survives. Other survivors include seven daughters and three sons, Mary Vannice, Beechel Clark, Shirley Graybeal, Lillie Benningfield, Jane Dudgeon, Linda Newton, Helen Claywell, John Harold Sluder and James Sluder of Campbellsville and William Charles Sluder of Greensburg; 32 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother and one sister, Arthur Sluder of Marseilles, Ill., and Ida Glover of Campbellsville.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, Mary Sluder, Nancy Sluder, David Sluder, Carl Sluder, and Troy Sluder.
