John R. Vaughn, 71, of Austinville, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at his home. Mr. Vaughn was born in Carroll County to the late Steven Daniel and Susie Annah Webb Vaughn. Survivors include his wife of fifty years Edna Mae Vaughn of the home; children and spouses Mitchell Ralph and Sharon Vaughn, Patricia and Spook Hash, and Travis John and Darlene Vaughn all of Austinville; brothers Bob Vaughn of Ohio, Coy Vaughn of Max Meadows, Ray Vaughn and Dean Vaughn both of Austinville; sisters Dessie White of Galax, Guida Wardwell and Ann Austin both of Austinville; and five grandchildren Cody Vaughn, Candace Vaughn, Brayden Vaughn, Jon Landon Vaughn, and Asia Leigh Vaughn. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Pleasant View Church at 2:00 PM with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
