Viola Barkley, Topeka, Dies
Mrs. Viola Marie Barkley, 46, 1816 Cherokee, was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Monday.
Dr. C.G. Hermann, deputy district coroner, said an autopsy will be performed Tuesday to determine the cause of death.

Mrs. Barkley was born Feb. 28, 1922 near Eureka in Greenwood County and had lived in Topeka about six years. Earlier she lived at Salina.

Survivors include her husband, Byron Barkley, at home; a son, George Barkley, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Alberta Waltrip, Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Patty Joe Bunard, Eureka, and Mrs. Phyllis Churchill, Goldsboro, N.C.; her mother, Mrs. Pearl Stevans, Eureka; a brother, George Miller, Bennington; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Pratt, El Dorado, and Mrs. Ruth Garland, Borger, Tex.; and six grandchildren.

Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
