HARBOR ACCIDENT VICTIMS BURIED
Funeral Services Held Friday for Arland Family; Four Killed in Wreck MONTESANO, Jan. 6.-(Special).
-Funeral services were held from the Methodist church here at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon for Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Arland, 43 and 36 years of age, respectively, together with Mr. Arland's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Arland of Pomona, Calif., 67 and 62 years of age, respectively, who were killed at Fullerton, Calif., last Friday evening, when a Southern Pacific train struck and demolished the automobile of Charles W. Arland. Burial was in Wynooche cemetery here. The funeral of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Arland was also held this afternoon from the First Methodist church at Pomona, burial following there.

All four were members of pioneer Grays Harbor families, Charles W. Arland being the son and Albert H. Arland the grandson of Richard Arland, who settled here in 1860. Mrs. Charles Arland was the daughter of Joseph Hill, another early settler and Mrs. Albert Arland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Olson, who have lived here for nearly thirty years.

Charles W. Arland was formerly a logging operator here but for the past eight years had lived in California. He was for many years active in the business and civic life of Montesano and Grays Harbor and served six years as county commissioner. He was born near Madison, Wisconsin and came here as a young boy. Mrs. Arland was born in California and came here as a child. They are survived by two daughters, and many other relatives here and in California.

Albert Arland was the son of James A. Arland of Montesano and his mother was Sarah Medcalf, daughter of another of the early pioneer families. He was born and educated in Montesano but for the past eight years had lived in Aberdeen were he was vice president of the Grays Harbor Dairy Products company.

Mrs. Albert Arland was born in Ocosta, but came here early in life and grew up here. They left no children but are each survived by parents and brothers and sisters.
