Katherine Tull was born in Whitesville, MO to farmer and Civil War Veteran Martin V. Tull and his wife Sarah "Emma" (Bowman) Tull. Katherine had one sister who was 4 1/2 years older. Her sister, Anna B. Tull (married Richard Kelley), was widowed twice, the name of her other husband is yet to be identified. Anna had three children, Anna Louise, John R. and Ruth K. Kelley.

Katherine never married and spent her adult life as a school teacher. She also helped care for her parents in their later years. Her father had filed an application for pension on 13 July 1889 , having stated that he was an invalid. Katherine was 8 1/2 years old at that time.

Preceding Katherine in death were father in 1925, her mother 9 months later in 1926, and her sister in 1951. Katherine died at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO, on 14 Oct 1962 of Carcinomatosis, and Carcinoma of the right breast (16 months duration). (Her niece?), Ruth Allen, was the informant.
