Alfred was the son of George W. Miller and Jane Eleanor Gordon. According to records on Ancestry.com Alfred was married twice, first, he married Nannie M. Murdock on 25 May 1893 at the residence of the Minister, John A. Summey, at Davidson County, North Carolina, they had 2 children (Lola Vivian Miller and Olivia Miller Foust) Nannie died in 1900. His 2nd marriage was to Minnie Bischer on Jul 26, 1900, their children were Charles Byrum, Alfred Bischer, N. Kope, George Dermont, Ruth K.,David v., John Reece and Dallas Nable. (spellings may be slightly off). What is interesting to find out is after Peggy Johnson was kind enough to upload a photo of the headstone, it's evident he was buried with both spouses.
