Edward Martin, 66, of 13 Tamarack St., line foreman with the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for many years, died at 9:30 Tuesday night, Nov. 4, 1958. in an Ogdensburg hospital. He had been a patient there three weeks and in ill health, four years. Mr. Martin was born Aug. 18,1892 in Chicopee, Mass., the son of Elizabeth and Jerry Martin. He moved to Dickinson Center with his family at an early age and was educated there. In 1916 he and Alice Foley were married in St. Regis Falls and they came to Massena to make their home the same year. He was a member of the Massena Elks Lodge. Mr. Martin started with Niagara Mohawk Mar. 3, 1918 and retired from active duty Oct. 3, 1954. Most of his service was as a line foreman. Surviving are his wife: five children, Mrs. Lynn (Ruby) Holland, DeKalb Junction, Charles Martin, Patchogue, L.I., Jerry Martin, Lockport, Mrs. Henry (Edna) Bodway, Lewiston, N.Y., and Mrs. Carl (Patricia) Yandoh, Massena; two brothers, Angus and Walter Martin, both of Dickinson Center; a sister, Mrs. George (Emma) Brabon, Bangor, and 10 grandchildren. The body is at the Phillips Memorial Home. Services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Saturday morning in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Regis Falls Cemetery. Massena Lodge 1702, BPOE, will conduct a memorial service for Edward Martin at the Phillips Memorial Home at 8 o'clock tonight. All Elks are requested to attend. Officers will meet at the club house.
