Mrs. Sallie Rice Burress died at her home at Elkhorn after a brief illness on Monday, December 28, at 11 o'clock. She was born in Adair County September 16, 1862, dying at the age of 74. She made profession of faith early in life and united with the Elkhorn Methodist Church. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Effie Benningfield, of this county; two brothers, W. J. Rice and S. P. Rice, also of this county, and many other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the Elkhorn Methodist Church at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
