Saturday Mrs. Elsie Brantley-Day, 23, of Cotton Valley died at the local sanitarium. Mrs. Daye was the daughter of Mrs. Nona Brantley. Mrs. Daye was born and reared in this parish where she received her education and made many friends.
The funeral was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Finis Lowe of Minden at 3:30 with Rev. E.A. Sandifer of Cotton Valley and Dr. C.W. Culp of this city officiating. Mr. M.O. Dennis, funeral director, was in charge of the burial which took place in the local cemetery.
Pall bearers were: D.E. Mitchel, W.M. Burnette, F.L. Lowe, Leroy Miller, Bert David and Don Kemp.
Surviving Mrs. Daye are: her husband, R.E. Daye, and son who is two years old; her mother, of Minden; and her sister, Miss Rurie Brantley who is a student at Louisiana Normal.
