James Martin Lantz, 62, Somerset, died April 25, 1997 at his residence. Born March 2, 1935 in Ogletown, Pa., son of Ruby King Lantz-Johnson, Salisbury and the late Clark Lantz. Preceded in death by: brother, William Custer and sister, Edna Ruppert. Survived by his wife, the former Joyce Ann Miller and these children, Mrs. Tom (Judy) Trimpey, Somerset; and Joan Lantz and Jamie Lantz, both of Somerset; granddaughter, Jennifer Trimpey. Also survived by brothers, Carl Lantz, married to the former Flo Mostoller, Somerset; Frank Lantz, Windber; and Leonard Lantz, Jessup, Ga.; sisters, Zada Snyder, Johnstown; Virginia Joy, Berlin; and Alice Wooley, Somerset RD 1; sister-in-law, Sarah Custer, Salisbury; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Emily Miller, Springfield, Mo. and neighbor and friend Doug Higgins. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Ziegler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Ronzal L. Jarvis officiating. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
