Vernon Wayne Holcomb, 85, Paragould, AR., departed this life, Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.
He was born December 17, 1926, in Cardwell, Missouri, to the late Luther and Ida Toombs.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Bonnie Miller, Lurlie Todd and Alma Jackson, brothers, Harold Holcomb and Leslie Holcomb, step daughter, Janet Westbrook, grandson, Jeff Holcomb and granddaughter, Julie Kelly Jones.
Vernon was a retired supervisor from L. A. Darling Co. and was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife; Joy Holcomb, of the home; children: Larry and Iretha Holcomb of Paragould, Hershel and Brenda Holcomb of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Karen and Larry Beliew of Paragould, Donna Ruth Sullivan of Kansas and step son, Mike Boyd of Paragould; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and three special sisters-in-laws: Hildred Gilmore, Ollie Winn and Anna Boyd.
Arrangmenets were by: Heath Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at Cardwell Cemetery.
