At about 8 o'clock on last Wednesday morning, the wife of William C. Myers, who had been suffering upon a bed of affliction since the 10th of last June, a year ago, took her leave of all things earthly and her spirit passed to that better world. She had suffered long and much, and death was certainly a relief to her. She was a noble and kind hearted woman, an affectionate wife and good mother. Everybody was her friend, and when the sad news of her death was whispered on the breeze, although having long been expected, everyone seemed to lament that the community had lost so good a citizen. A short time before she was taken sick, she united with the M.E. Church, and about 3 weeks ago was received into full membership by the pastor and a few members who collected at her bedside for that purpose. Her funeral occurred on Thursday, the day following her death, and although a cold and disagreeable day, there was a large number turned out to pay that last respect and honor due the dead.
