Wednesday, July 28, 1880
At 2 o'clock this morning, Oliver Burson, aged 30 years, died at the residence of his mother, 1 1/2 miles south of town. His disease was lung trouble from which complaint he had been confined to his bed for the last 7 weeks. He leaves a young wife and numerous friends who will mourn his early death. Oliver was an honest and industrious young man, and warmly esteemed by many of the citizens of this place. It grieves us much to see such a noble young man stricken down in the prime of life. His funeral will take place tomorrow at 10 a.m.
