John Mose Walker was the son of E. W. "Pete" Walker and Emily Ola Wells. He was the grandson of John D. Walker and Florence Hammons, and the grandson of Mose Wells and Mary Mason. John Mose had two sisters, Mary Florence Walker born in 1922 and Dolly Evelyn Walker born in 1925.
He married Mildred Inez Thomas, daughter of Ben and Lula Thomas, in July 1939. They had two daughters, Patsy Walker born in 1942 and Brenda Walker born in 1944. In 1946 he married Margie Herring Padget, daughter of Walter Clark Herring and Lettie Garrett. They had one daughter, Carolyn Walker born October 31, 1949. In 1951 he married Myrtle Pauline Oliver, daughter of Madison Oliver and Pearl Jacobs. They had two children, a son and a daughter. In 1965 he married Lorraine Ann Eben. They had one son, Johnnie Wayne Walker born in 1966. In 1972 he married Exie Lee Curry Hyatt. At the time of his death, at age 63, he was not married.
John Mose was a member of the Ratcliff Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Rev. Earl Hester officiated at his graveside service at the Conner Cemetery on October 20, 1984.
John Mose was survived by sons, Johnnie Walker and James E. Walker; daughters, Brenda Ashford, Carolyn White and Kathy Walker; sister Dolly Jonas and husband J. C. Jonas; eight grandchildren.
