Funeral services for Mrs. Exie Lee Parrish, age 79, of Kennard, will be held Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday evening 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Exie Lee Parrish, age 79, of Kennard, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 in the Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin. She was born March 9, 1931 in Houston County, Texas and had lived in Kennard most of her lifetime. Mrs. Parrish was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She was retired from the Lufkin State School where she had worked as a Dorm Technician.
Survivors include children, Debbie Dowdy and husband, Bill of Kennard, James Hyatt and wife, Donna of Redtown, Tina Fitzgerald and husband, Jim of Victoria, Nolan Hyatt of Kennard; step-children, Beth Carroll of Dallas, Georgia, Jerry Parrish of Kennard, Gary Parrish of Crockett, Kenneth "Bo" Parrish and wife, Linda of Kennard, Don Parrish of Kennard, Johnnie Wayne Walker of Dallas; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Nellie Currie of Latexo, Faye Currie of Latexo and Bernice Currie of Kennard; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by husbands, William Ray "Bill" Hyatt and R. G. Parrish; sisters, Reba Weatherly, Erna Dell Horst and Verna Bell Rains and brothers, John A. Currie, K. D. Currie, Jessie Lee Currie and Calvin Currie.
