Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland Mon 31 Jan 1910: "Death of Mrs. Barry-Mrs. John Ross Barry, aged 38 years, died this morning at her home in Dudley. Mrs. Barry was in her usual health Saturday at noon when she was taken ill with convulsions succumbing as stated early this morning. She was a native of Dan's Mountain, near here, and is survived by her husband and five children, the oldest about ten years of age. Her mother and one brother, R. W. Ross, reside in Midland."

A requiem mass was sung in St. Mary's Church and interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery. Much sympathy is manifested for Mr. Barry. He has five small children, the youngest only a few days in this world. Mrs. Barry was a fine, robust young woman, much admired by all who knew her for her cheery, happy disposition. She carried sunshine with her wherever she went. Her death is a terrible blow to her husband and her helpless little children."
