Curtis was a lifetime resident of Mayes County. He was employed at Salina Public Schools as a bus driver and in the maintenance department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and showing pigs, but the most important thing in his life was his three sons and his family.
Survivors include his wife Karen, three sons, Curtis Leroy Monk Jr., Dustin Blake Monk, and Brandon Eugene Monk, Mother Loretta Monk of Salina, brother Carlos Monk and wife Gayla of Locust Grove, father-in-law Gary Hanna of Salina and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Leroy Monk and mother-in-law Doris Hanna. Casketbearers include Curtis L. Gravesite Details
Funeral services were 2 p.m., Thursday March 13, in the Salina gymnasium. The Reverends Charles Plemmons and Ray Gwartney officiated.
