He was born here, December 24, 1935, a son of the late Gracie Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was employed by Alleghany Wood Products in Mount Storm.
He is survived by his wife, the former Kathaleen Virginia Cook; two daughters, Mrs. Kathy Lynn Bland, Greenbelt, Md.; Mrs. Kimberly Dawn Thompson, at home; one son, Jacob Thompson, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Alpha Wilfong, Riverton, W. Va.; Ruth Weimer, Elkins; three brothers, Stanley Thompson and Russell Thompson, both of Riverton; Roscoe Thompson, Elkins.
Friends may call at the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, Saturday from 7 to 9 p. m.
Services will be conducted Sunday at 1 p. m. at the Riverton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Krimmel and the Rev. Pal O'Gorek officiating.
Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery.
